UA Little Rock students move on to semifinalist round of construction intern of the year competition
Two University of Arkansas at Little Rock students have a chance to win the title of Construction Intern of the Year and a $10,000 scholarship after earning two spots for students who garnered the most online votes for the scholarship competition. The Construction Intern Awards scholarship program is designed to recognize the strongest construction interns in the industry and the companies with the best construction internship programs in the country. They are awarding a total of $50,000 in scholarships.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of English recently announced the newest members of its William G. Cooper, Jr. Honors Program. Students win trip to Museum of African American History and Culture
Eight UA Little Rock students who went to Washington, D.C. June 2-4, after winning an essay contest to promote knowledge of African American history. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month, the Joel E. Anderson Institute on Race and Ethnicity held an essay contest in February in which students answered: "Why does the United States need a National Museum of African American History and Culture?"

STUDENTS DESIGN TORNADO SHELTERS FOR UA LITTLE ROCK
Twelve students from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Construction Management and Civil and Construction Engineering faced a unique problem for their senior design project: to design a tornado shelter that could protect up to 900 people on campus against wind speeds of up to 250 miles per hour.

UA Little Rock dean's list spring 2017
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has announced its dean's list, recognizing students' superior academic performance during the spring 2017 semester. To be included, students must have at least nine credit hours with a grade of A, B, C, or "credit" and at least a 3.5 GPA. Students must not have D, F, I, or "no credit" grades on the semester grade report to be eligible.
