The UA Little Rock Campus Garden Alliance serves students, faculty, and community members interested in learning about sustainable urban gardening. Its members strive for community outreach by growing a variety of crops that are donated to the Trojan Food Pantry.

The company selects recipients from throughout the country based on their professional interests and academic achievement in an information technology-related field of study. "Acxiom is passionate about helping the next generation of leaders pursue their dreams through computer science and information technology careers," said Scott Howe, Acxiom CEO and president, in a news release. "Our support positions them for future success and helps foster a more diverse pool of qualified talent, which will benefit the marketing and technology industries for years to come." All four UA Little Rock award winners are students in the Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology. This year's award decisions were particularly challenging because of the quality of the scholarship applications, said Tammy Sanders, Acxiom director of engagement. "We look forward to the contributions these students will make to Acxiom and to the marketing industry," Sanders said in the news release.

Eighteen students from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock got a taste of life as international diplomats during a trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in the National Model Arab League Conference.

Ten college students from across the country participated in an intensive summer research program designed to decrease the tide of cyberattacks on people using mobile technology and social media. The UALR Shelby Breedlove Scholarship is an endowed scholarship for students transferring to UALR from a two-year institution in Arkansas that offers up to $16,000 for two years. Recipients are required to have 45 transferable credit hours and a cumulative transfer GPA of at least 3.25.

The UALR Freshman Award from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock requires the recipient to have successfully obtained a 22 or above on the ACT and a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.00.
