UA Little Rock business students were semifinalists in an international marketing competition that drew 270 teams from around the globe.

Three members of the Trojan soccer team were named to the Sun Belt Preseason All-Conference team, while the soccer team was also picked to finish fourth in the conference standings. Due to their stellar seasons in 2017, senior forward Arola Aparicio Gili, senior defender Liesa Seifert and junior midfielder Doro Greulich earned recognition on the Sun Belt Preseason All-Conference team.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock baseball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association. The Trojans were one of only 50 schools at the Division I level to earn the recognition and one of just two Sun Belt Conference programs among the list.

To be eligible for the Chancellor's List, students must be enrolled in at least nine credit hours and earn at least a 3.9 grade point average. Students must not have D, F, I or "no credit" grades on their semester grade reports.

A group of University of Arkansas at Little Rock students saw firsthand how the growing migrant crisis has changed Europe in recent years. Dr. Rebecca Glazier and Dr. Christopher Williams, professors in the UA Little Rock School of Public Affairs, led 10 students to Europe June 4-20, where they visited London, Paris, and Berlin to learn more about the challenges Europe faces in light of the migrant crisis.

Bolt, a graduate student in computer science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has developed a virtual computer monitor system that he hopes can eventually replace its physical counterparts.

Researchers at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock are studying how social bots influence the delivery of news via social media during major disasters. The study examines the role of social bots - automated Twitter accounts that attempt to affect or influence the behaviors of others - and their coordination and communication patterns with complex organizational structures to disseminate information during four natural disasters that occurred in 2017.

For the 13th time in program history, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 academic year.

Little Rock juniors George Scanlon and Justin Warren have been named Division I Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for the 2017-18 season.

Erica Olson, of Gassville, Arkansas, received $2,500 from the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program. She will use the money to study at the University of Granada: Center of Modern Languages in Spain during the fall semester.

A team of systems engineering students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock has gone where no UA Little Rock students have gone before by participating in the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge. For their senior design and capstone project, Team Captain Hugh Benfer, Nathanael Menhinick, Cameron Palmer, Jason Reed, and Shelby Wingate designed and built the university's first human powered vehicle. Dr. Jin Lee, professor of systems engineering, and Dr. Samer Yahya, visiting scholar of systems engineering, served as the team's faculty advisors.

Several University of Arkansas at Little Rock students from the School of Social Work were honored at the National Association of Social Workers Arkansas Annual Conference.

A group of University of Arkansas at Little Rock employees, students, and alumni have joined forces to create a game to bring out the space scoundrels in all of us. The space-western storytelling card game - dubbed Galactic Scoundrels - is inspired by beloved fictional scoundrels like Han Solo from "Star Wars" and Malcolm Reynolds from "Firefly."

Taemora Williams plans to improve her language skills and gain professional experience by interning at a nonprofit organization promoting children's film in Valencia, Spain, this summer. To help pay for the trip, Williams received a scholarship from the Fund for Education Abroad. The fund contains 100 scholarships totaling $335,000, which are awarded to U.S. students who are consistently underrepresented in study abroad programs. The students come from a variety of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The 2018 Fund for Education Abroad winners were selected from a pool of over 2,300 applicants from 517 colleges and universities across the country.

Cheryl Humphrey, a graduate student studying music education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, won $10,000 on the fourth season premiere of the ABC game show "Match Game."

Miss Greater Jacksonville Brooke Cornelius, a second-year student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, was among the Top 10 finalists for the 2018 Miss Arkansas Pageant, winning $6,500 in scholarships.

Sabrina Bonanno, a recent graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and four-year veteran of the Trojans Women's Golf Team, has been playing golf for as long as she can remember. Bonanno began playing golf with her father at the age of 3. One month later and the toddler/rising golf star already had her first golf coach. However, Bonanno said she didn't get "serious" about golf until she was 6 or 7 and began playing in tournaments. "Most kids got to play with their friends, but I got to play at the golf course," Bonanno said. "During my junior year at Ridgewood Community High School in Norridge, Illinois, I started looking at schools to play golf, and I really wanted to go south. I liked Little Rock from the moment I stepped on campus and met my coach."

UA Little Rock students rode the Tour de Rock in honor of the brother of Steve McClellan, vice chancellor for finance and administration. McClellan's brother, Bruce, was diagnosed with lung cancer last year.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law has recognized recent Bowen graduate Cory Lee Bates as the recipient of the 2018 Student Public Service Award. Every year at commencement, the faculty, staff, and students at Bowen Law School select one of its graduating students who exemplifies the law school's core value of public service to receive the award. Bates will also receive $1,000 to go toward the cost of a course to prepare him to take the bar exam.
