The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has named Sunny Jenkins, a senior from Sherwood, as the recipient of the 2024-25 Stonewall Scholarship.

A UA Little Rock student has received a $5,000 scholarship from the AISC Education Foundation. Tyler Burns, a junior civil and construction engineering major from Van Buren, is one of 55 students from across the U.S. who received a scholarship for the 2024-25 academic year. The AISC awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to this year's cohort.

Matthew McMillian, a senior accounting major from Huntsville, Alabama, is one of 676 U.S. students who received a scholarship from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) for the 2024-25 academic year, up from 369 scholarships in 2023 and 250 in 2022.

"One of my favorite aspects about AGATE is the organization's ability to give back to the students and teachers in the form of awards and scholarships each year," said Dustin Seaton, president of AGATE. "I am a recipient of the AGATE scholarship previously, and it helped my family tremendously in paying for my G/T certification and endorsement." Countess Cyrus, a kindergarten teacher with Little Rock School District, Krista Hinton, K-12 gifted and talented coordinator for Lavaca School District, and Sarah Willis, gifted and talented K-4 facilitator at Lakeside School District in Hot Springs, received $1,000 scholarships from AGATE.

Rebekah White, a Ph.D. student in applied biosciences at UA Little Rock, has been awarded a $1,500 Graduate Research Grant from Phi Kappa Phi for her biology research. She will use funds from the award to support biological research into the photosynthetic mechanism and stress responses of cyanobacteria.
