Emily Simpkins of Little Rock, Arkansas has accepted an invitation of lifetime membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), the nation's leading certified honor society for high-achieving first- and second-year college students with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

University of Arkansas at Little Rock systems engineering student Abbas Al-Wahhamy gained valuable leadership skills at the Student Vice President Leadership Summit of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Four UA Little Rock students were inducted into Sigma Lambda Chi, the international honor society for construction in a ceremony on May 10. The students inducted were Gozde Gursoy, Erica James, Donna Mantione, and Honorary Inductee Larry Blackmon. Sigma Lambda Chi was established in 1949 and is comprised of 67 chapters across the United States and Australia. UA Little Rock's chapter of Sigma Lambda Chi was founded in 1999 by Michael Tramel, who serves as its faculty advisor. It has received a "gold" rating since 2017 due to the hard work and dedication of its members. Inductees will receive a stole and cord for their graduation regalia.

Completion of the program requires students to maintain an overall GPA of 3.25, with a grade point of 3.5 in English courses, satisfactory completion of the block of Cooper Honors courses, and a letter of certification from the Director of the Program.
