A UA Little Rock student gained valuable research experience and mentoring during the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Paige Poindexter, a senior biology major from Little Rock, is one of 10 students from colleges and universities around the country who was selected for the program, a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute-funded effort in the UAMS Graduate School.

After stepping up for her team in a huge way, UA Little Rock junior Jordan Holman was also recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference, naming Holman the Newcomer of the Week for women's basketball.

Senior guard Jayla Brooks stepped up into a leadership role for the Little Rock women's basketball team. Her performance on the floor not only helped the Trojans land the number 2 seed at this week's Ohio Valley Conference Championships, but it also earned her a 1st Team All-OVC selection Tuesday as the 2023-24 All-Conference Team was announced.

Jaylen Crocker-Johnson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week released March 4. Crocker-Johnson becomes the fifth player in Ohio Valley Conference history to receive the honor nine times in a season.
