A UA Little Rock student leader who has a passion for advocating for women in the construction industry is graduating this semester with a bright future ahead of her.

Since 2022, Katherine Hartter, an environmental geology student at UA Little Rock, has been sharing her love of space science with the community by serving as a NASA Partnered Eclipse Ambassador.

Armin Mortazi, a junior biology major and chemistry minor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has received a prestigious grant from the Student Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) awarded by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) for his research in combating antibiotic resistance.

Little Rock junior Anna Dawson earned her second Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Month award on April 1, claiming the honor for the month of March after posting a 71.9 average over eight rounds and three tournaments during the month.

For the second time in a six week span, freshman Eleonore Aernouts was named the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week, giving the Little Rock Women's Golf program its sixth weekly honor of the year and third in a four week span.

A year ago, UA Little Rock student Kimberly Arcega had never considered building large oak tables for the benefit of her fellow university students, let alone learning all the skills that would be required to build them. "This was a huge learning experience as I had never built anything this big before," said Arcega, a senior applied design major with an emphasis in woodworking. "I got firsthand experience on the business side of being a custom furniture builder and learned important new skills along the way."

After a recording breaking weekend at the Bobcat Invitational, Matthew Fox was named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Male Co-Track Athlete of the Week announced April 3 by the conference. This marks Fox's second OVC weekly honor this season and first for outdoor competition.

A UA Little Rock student gained valuable research experience and mentoring during the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Paige Poindexter, a senior biology major from Little Rock, is one of 10 students from colleges and universities around the country who was selected for the program, a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute-funded effort in the UAMS Graduate School.

After stepping up for her team in a huge way, UA Little Rock junior Jordan Holman was also recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference, naming Holman the Newcomer of the Week for women's basketball.

Senior guard Jayla Brooks stepped up into a leadership role for the Little Rock women's basketball team. Her performance on the floor not only helped the Trojans land the number 2 seed at this week's Ohio Valley Conference Championships, but it also earned her a 1st Team All-OVC selection Tuesday as the 2023-24 All-Conference Team was announced.

Jaylen Crocker-Johnson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Freshman of the Week released March 4. Crocker-Johnson becomes the fifth player in Ohio Valley Conference history to receive the honor nine times in a season.

Six outstanding students from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock have been selected for the 2023 Acxiom Diversity Scholarship program. Acxiom, the customer intelligence company whose data-driven solutions create business growth by enabling better customer experiences, annually selects 10 college students from the U.S. for the program.

Five students from University of Arkansas at Little Rock attended the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference. SACNAS is a group that was founded to address issues of diversity in academia and government agencies. They work to support the underrepresented in earning advanced degrees, advancing their careers, and obtaining positions of leadership.

Jaylen Crocker-Johnson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for the third-straight week. Crocker-Johnson becomes the second player in OVC history to receive the honor seven times in a season and the eighth player to receive the honor for three consecutive weeks.
