Ruot Monyyong Named to Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List
Little Rock senior forward Ruot Monyyong has been named to the Mid-Season Lou Henson Award Watch List, announced Jan. 26 by College Insider. The award is given annually to the top mid-major player in Division I basketball. The 2020-21 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year, Monyyong has picked up right where he left off last season when he was tabbed the league's Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year. Monyyong is averaging 13.0 points and 11.1 rebounds on the year, including 15.3 points and 13.1 rebounds in Sun Belt play.

Bowen Law Grad Dedicates Career to Immigration Law and Public Service
A fall 2020 graduate of the William H. Bowen of School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a passion for public service plans to put her law degree to use in immigration law and a life of service. "The legal process is already challenging for U.S. citizens," said Edith Chavez De Oseguera, who is earning a Juris Doctor from Bowen this month. "It's much more challenging for those who are newcomers. There is such a need for immigration attorneys, especially for those who speak other languages. After graduation and passing the bar, I plan to fulfill my vocation as an immigration attorney, and I plan to continue giving back to my community by doing pro bono work for vulnerable clients."

Wilkerson Fulfills Dream of Earning College Degree 55 Years After Graduating High School
At 73, Carolyn Wilkerson has completed her lifelong dream of earning a bachelor's degree. "My journey has been one the most rewarding personal decisions that I've ever made," Wilkerson said. "This is probably the only major milestone that I have ever established for myself. I've done some things that I think are monumental but nothing of this magnitude, especially at my age. This has been quite rewarding. It's been a phenomenal journey." The Little Rock native will graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied communication and a minor in sociology in December 2020 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Coupet Garners Sun Belt Player of the Week Honor
Senior guard Ben Coupet Jr. has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week following the opening weekend of league play. Coupet had a phenomenal weekend for the Trojans, helping guide Little Rock to a 2-0 start in league play with a sweep of UT Arlington. He averaged 26.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, shooting 77.3% from the floor, 73.3% from three-point range and 80.0% from the free throw line.
