Annya Grom Collects First MVC Swimmer of the Week Honor of the Season
After a strong start to her senior year, Annya Grom has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's first Swimmer of the Week of the 2022-23 season. Announced by the conference on Wednesday, this marks the third Swimmer of the Week honor of the senior's career.

Seventeen UA Little Rock Students Receive LULAC Scholarships
Seventeen University of Arkansas at Little Rock students have been awarded scholarships from the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) for the 2022-23 school year. The 17 students are collectively receiving more than $29,000, with some matching funds from UA Little Rock.

STEM College Student Ambassadors
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has selected 16 students to serve as ambassadors for the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Student ambassadors are high-achieving student leaders who serve as mentors, tutors, and peer support for STEM majors at UA Little Rock. Those selected for the CSTEM Ambassador Program serve as mentors to freshmen in the CSTEM Scholars Program, provide homework help and referrals in the Learning Commons, work in the student computer lab, and promote the college through outreach and campus events.

Joe Santana, a junior mass communication major from Dumas, was one of four college students selected for the internship program. UA Little Rock Student Writes Grant to Help Fund Suicide Prevention Programs in Arkansas Jails
A UA Little Rock student has written a successful grant that will help fund a pilot suicide prevention education program in Arkansas jails. Kristina Johnson, a graduate student in professional and technical writing, wrote the grant on behalf of the Arkansas chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP-AR). The nonprofit received a $10,000 grant from the Roy and Christine Sturgis Trust to supplement funding for a pilot suicide prevention education program in two Arkansas county jails. Bank of America is the sole trustee of the Roy and Christine Sturgis Trust.
