Stephanie Miles receives first-of-its-kind scholarship

2017 Apr 25

Stephanie Miles is among two University of Arkansas at Little Rock students who received the new James W. Parins Intern Scholarship, created in honor of the late Dr. James Parins, co-founder of the Sequoyah National Research Center.

The students received $650 scholarships based on their ability to demonstrate knowledge and interest in Native American culture.

Serving as interns, the students work to decipher videos of the Jeanie Greene Heartbeat Alaska Film Collection, which was recently acquired by the research center, thanks to a $24,000 grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council.
