Kennedy Quarders of Quitman, Ark., named UALR Science Scholar

Kennedy Quarders of Quitman, Ark., was recently named a member of the UALR Science Scholar program.

Quarders is a graduate of Quitman High School. Quarders intends to major in Chemistry and his/her career goals include Medicine.

The program provides scholarships up to $3,000 per year. Each Science Scholar will also receive in-depth advising, co-enrollment in science courses, and opportunities to live in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Scholars Apartments.

Scholars attend seminars, workshops, and conferences, and participate in field trips, as well as undergraduate research or internships.

The program is funded through a variety of sources, including the the University Science Scholars and the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in STEM programs at UALR.
